Lost
“Snowflakes spun and hit the ground,
Nightfall gently creeped on in.
Like an angel of the dark, without a sound,
It gathered at my edges with an unfamiliar grin.
A tender breeze blew through my hair,
Made me shield my eyes from the frost.
"Come on closer.. If you dare."
It hummed to me as I got lost.
Lost in its stare, its pull, its shifting glance
An arctic chill made its way down my spine.
This dusk-born thought drew me into a trance
Unaware I was following a hidden sign.
Cars were speeding by like devils of the night,
The music of eternal life swelled through ominous streets.
It all felt so wrong, yet somehow too right,
The night closing in as my restless heart found its beat.”
