Look Good, Feel Good, Do Good.

12/3/2025

I want you to picture any goal you have. Really picture something you want in this life or want to achieve. I will literally leave space so you can think of one.

Now, with this goal, you can likely imagine all the necessary steps it would take to reach it and make it reality. A laundry list of tasks and bigger-picture items. I’ll leave a bit more space.

However, you likely failed to think of yourself. At the core of every goal lies you, a.k.a. all of the tasks that follow your dream have to start with you first. Who else is going to take all these steps to reach the goal you desire?

I can also guarantee that at some point in your life, you have experienced how much better you feel & how productive you are when you feel good about yourself. Wearing an outfit instead of pajamas when working from home, going about your day after a fresh blowout, purchasing something for yourself that you’ve wanted for a while. The opportunities are endless depending on what makes you happy and feel good.

This isn’t fantasy, and it’s not coming from some fashion-indulged imagination. There’s actual psychology  behind this that can shift the energy of your day.

It starts with something researchers call enclothed cognition — the concept that what you put on doesn’t just sit on your body, it becomes part of your mind. Your brain takes all your fashion choices as cues as to who you are and who you want to be.

Clothing isn’t just fabric; it’s an announcement that you intend to show up as the more capable, collected version of yourself. And because the mind likes to cooperate, you begin to think and behave from that place.

There’s also a bit of chemistry involved. When you feel good about how you look, even in the smallest way, your brain releases more dopamine. Feeling put together allows you to move throughout your day without the background hum of self-doubt. How you show up for yourself can change everything.

And perhaps the most beautiful part is how personal identity shows up. You learn who you are by watching yourself. When you catch your reflection and see someone who looks intentional, your behavior naturally aligns with that version. You write differently. You speak differently. You hold yourself with more authority, more softness, more self-recognition, anything. Looking good isn’t the point; feeling like someone worth showing up for is.

Knowing now that there is true reasoning behind look good, feel good, do good (unless you already knew all this miss smarty-pants), you can start implementing it any second.

I am currently sat here writing this entry at 8:38 p.m. with a lavender face mask on, to treat myself after a long day. It really can be small or large. Book your lash lift appointment, schedule a workout class, blow an entire paycheck on a new wardrobe (or don’t!) What matters is that you engage with activities that make yourself feel good.

With a little extra self-care, watch yourself flourish and reach new opportunities you didn’t think were within your grasp. Newsflash: everything is within your grasp with the right amount of confidence and delusion.

Now, go get your blowout and handle the day.
